A new adventure!

If you have found your way here, you probably know by now that Sarah and I are off on a bit of an adventure!

An opportunity has arisen for us to leave Hereford and go to South Sudan with SIM (Serving In Mission). We have been thinking and praying about this for a few months, but it seems God has opened the door to go sooner rather than later. The plan at the moment is to head off in late October with an opportunity to catch up with family and friends in Scotland and NI before we go.

We have set up this blog to keep anyone who is interested updated with what we are doing. This first post is just to let you know what is in the pipeline.

At the moment we don't know 100% what we will be doing, but we'll give you the jist of it. SIM have been working in the Sudan for years. Have a look at their website for more info, or watch the video on the next post which shows some of the work they do there.

We will be going to a remote corner of the country to a place called Doro. SIM have been running a health clinic there for several years along with other ministries such as education, water boreholes, nutrition village, and supporting the local church.

They have recently built a maternity unit at the clinic, which Sarah will be helping to set up. There would appear to be some opportunities for me to use physio with some leprosy patients alongside any other ways I can be useful!

At this stage we are trying to get lots of the bits and bobs organised. From medical stuff, to finishing up at work, to moving stuff back to Glasgow, and starting to raise funds.

We would appreciate your prayers as we look forward to the exciting (and a bit scary) times we have ahead.

If you want more info, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

God bless

Paul and Sarah
